Lynchburg Tops Winston-Salem Again, 4-0
|
The Lynchburg Hillcats got an exceptional performance from starter Josh Fife, who silenced the Winston-Salem offense en route to a 4-0 shutout win in Game 2 of the Round 2 today. The Dash could never get a bead on the right-handed Fife, who threw 8.1 innings of shutout ball. The Hillcats now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Matt Beard had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth for Lynchburg. He came through with a 3-run home run to put Lynchburg in front, 4-0.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Beard.
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 21st , 2098 at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem.
