Memphis Redbirds won a nail-biting series against the Oklahoma City Dodgers 3-2, wrapping up the Round 1 finale 5-4 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Redbirds left fielder Dave Torres was named the series MVP.

He batted .421, drove in 4 runs and scored 5 to lead Memphis into the next round of play.

"Dave was real solid for us, real solid," said Redbirds manager Justin Tullar. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."

The Memphis Redbirds will play against the El Paso Chihuahuas in the next round. El Paso won their series against the Sacramento River Cats 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes..
