LaPorte Blasts Chiefs, Captains Take Game 4, 7-4
Lake County second baseman Ben LaPorte was the difference-maker for the Captains in what turned into a shootout with the Peoria Chiefs. LaPorte earned accolades after going 1-for-3 in the 7-4 Captains win. With the victory, the Captains moved into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.

With Lake County leading 5-3 in the top of the fifth, Jon Gillow hit a run-scoring single off Peoria pitcher Karl Noe. It put the Captains ahead 6-3.

In comments to the Lake County Today, Gillow admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dozer Park in Peoria.
