Augusta Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
Jose Figueroa was not about to watch an opponent celebrate a championship on his home field.

The left-hander pitched the Augusta GreenJackets to victory at Lake Olmstead Stadium today, staving off the Kannapolis Intimidators, who remain one game away from a title. Figueroa threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The win cuts the series deficit for the GreenJackets to 3-2 in the best-of-7 series.

In the bottom of the fifth, Matt Bobrick delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Augusta center fielder hit a 2-run double, putting the GreenJackets in front, 5-1.

"I like winning," Bobrick told the Augusta Bulletin. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."

Game 6 is scheduled for Friday at CMC-NorthEast Stadium in Kannapolis.
