Hooks Hammered by Redlin, Drop Game 2 to Missions
With third baseman Steve Redlin leading the charge, the San Antonio Missions defeated the visiting Corpus Christi Hooks, 11-4, in Game 2 of the Round 1. Redlin was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium to help San Antonio force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Tied up with the Hooks in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Missions got a boost from pinch hitter Chris Kemper. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Kemper saw a first pitch fastball from Mike Gardner and hit a 2-run double to break the stalemate and put San Antonio on top, 4-2.

"We're one game closer to our goal," San Antonio manager David Medina said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi.
