SeaWolves Win 3-1 Nail-Biter Versus Curve
The Erie SeaWolves racked up a win at Jerry Uht Park, bumping off the Altoona Curve, 3-1, in 10 innings. Kelly Blonder, who started for Erie, pitched effectively for his team. The winner was Jason Perry in relief. His record improves to 9-4. Vince Alderete took the loss. The SeaWolves have a one-game lead in the Southern Division.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Erie. That's when Corey Annese hit a 3-run home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Vince Alderete to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

During his postgame press conference, SeaWolves manager Frank Hennessy told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
