Corpus Christi Tops San Antonio, 10-5, Claims 2-1 Series Lead
The Corpus Christi Hooks moved to within one game of the Round 2, downing the visiting San Antonio Missions at Whataburger Field by a score of 10-5. Hooks left fielder Marco Gonzalez did some major damage. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. The win gives the Hooks a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Had Jamari Owens not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Owens hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Hooks.

"It was a solid team effort," said Owens after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi.
