Miles Blasts Voyagers, Phillies Take Game 1, 7-4
|
With first baseman Zach Miles leading the charge, the Philadelphia (Rk+) Phillies got a road win over the Great Falls Voyagers, 7-4, in Game 1 of the Round 2 today. Miles went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 at Centene Stadium to help Philadelphia (Rk+) take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Philadelphia (Rk+) used a well-timed hit by Pat Garrett to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Phillies ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning is the only objective," said Miles after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Centene Stadium in Great Falls.
