Gomez Blasts Mustangs, Cubs Take Game 3, 6-5
The Chicago (Rk+) Cubs have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Billings Mustangs, winning, 6-5, at Harbingers Ballpark. Cubs left fielder Ivan Gomez was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Cubs to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Cubs right fielder Matt DeLauder hit a cutter from Garrett Underwood for a 2-run single. Just like that, Chicago (Rk+) was up, 6-5.

"It's a huge change in atmosphere versus last game," Gomez said after the win. "I feel like we're back in the mix now. We just can't let up."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Harbingers Ballpark in King of Prussia.
