A classic and dramatic Round 1 has wrapped up, with the Washington (Rk+) Nationals outlasting the Ogden Raptors to advance to the Round 2.

Washington (Rk+) won the final game by a score of 2-1 and took the series 3-2.

"We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Washington (Rk+) shortstop Juan Canarena, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP.

Canarena hit .368 with a .429 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Washington (Rk+) Nationals will play against the Portland Tigers in the next round. Portland won their series against the Seattle (Rk+) Mariners 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
