Hillcats Advance to Round 2
The championship aspirations of the Lynchburg Hillcats are still alive and well, while the Frederick Keys are left to wait until next year.

Lynchburg won the clinching game of the Round 1 2-0 over Frederick at Harry Grove Stadium, to win the series 3-1.

"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said second baseman Alex Tarango, who paced the Lynchburg offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."

Tarango claimed the MVP by racking up 6 hits for a .400 average, with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Lynchburg Hillcats will play against the Salem Red Sox in the next round. Salem won their series against the Winston-Salem Dash 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
