Lowell and West Virginia duked it out and the Spinners came out victorious.

The Lowell Spinners got a marvelous performance from pitcher Manny Amaya. The right-hander kept the West Virginia offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 Lowell victory at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. Amaya got the win, improving to 3-4. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Donovan Scott earned his 6th save, after closing out the game.

Bill Ledbetter dealt the Black Bears a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Lowell leading 1-0, Ledbetter hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Ledbetter.

The Spinners raised their record to 47-30.
