Raucous Eastwood Field Crowd Propels Scrappers to 3-0 Victory; Series Tied at 2
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the Aberdeen Ironbirds will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Scrappers shut out the Ironbirds, 3-0, at Eastwood Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. In spite of the loss, Aberdeen left-hander Nick Keller had a strong outing in which he threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball.

Making an impact for the home team was Rory Palmer. In the bottom of the sixth, the 22-year old second baseman had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Scrappers.

"Makes our job easier," said Palmer, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 19th , 2110 at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen.
