Almost There: West Virginia On Cusp of Round 2 Triumph After 3-2 Win
Their bats were silent and West Virginia had a rookie on the mound. No problem.

On a day when the Black Bears struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 22-year-old starter Dave Bradley. The right-hander quieted the Aberdeen Ironbirds at Russell Diethrick Park to help West Virginia take the 3-2 decision and seize a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 2.

West Virginia took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Jesus Martinez hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Black Bears fans to their feet.

"I was able to fill up the zone," said Bradley.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Russell Diethrick Park in Morgantown.
