Boyd Blasts Chiefs, Loons Take Game 2, 6-5
Great Lakes center fielder Scott Boyd was the difference-maker for the Loons in what turned into a shootout with the Peoria Chiefs. Boyd earned accolades after going 2-for-3 in the 6-5 Loons win. With the victory, the Loons moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

In the top of the first, Great Lakes right fielder Juan Sanchez had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Peoria hurler Justin Hawkins, Sanchez hit a sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Great Lakes. For the day, Sanchez drove in one run.

"It feels a lot better to be tied than to be behind, even if it is only one game," Great Lakes manager Ivan Cruz said.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 22nd , 2111 at Dow Diamond in Midland.
