The 18-year-old rookie on the mound turned out to be the least of the Chicago (Rk+) Cubs worries.

Giving a high-pressure playoff start to youngster Bruce Scarborough seemed like a risky move for the Cubs, but it was one of the few things that went right at Kindrick Legion Field. Scarborough tossed 5.2 solid innings, but it was all for naught after Chicago (Rk+) dropped a 3-2 decision. With the win, Helena took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 Round 2.

In the bottom of the seventh, Helena shortstop Frank Guzman had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Chicago (Rk+) hurler Dave Hilditch, Guzman drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That made the score 2-0, Helena. For the day, Guzman was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Helena manager Justin Flowers said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kindrick Legion Field in Helena.
