It went the distance, but the Omaha Storm Chasers finally disposed of the Round Rock Express 4-0 in the series clincher at Werner Park.

Winning the finale gave the Storm Chasers the series, 3-2. They will now advance to the Round 2.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to Omaha left fielder Jordan Sanchez. He batted .292 in the series, collecting 7 RBIs and scoring 6 runs.

"Jordan deserves it," said Storm Chasers manager Lorenzo Villatoro. "He was the glue that held our club together."

The Omaha Storm Chasers will play against the Salt Lake Bees in the next round. Salt Lake won their series against the Sacramento River Cats 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
