Sandoval, Salt Lake Start Round 1 Strong with Home Win
The Salt Lake Bees started the Round 1 in dominant fashion, blowing out the visiting Sacramento River Cats at Smith's Ballpark by a score of 14-3 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Bees center fielder Mario Sandoval had a standout performance. He went 3-5 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.

Jose Pacheco was vital to the Salt Lake win. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. In the bottom of the third with two out, Pacheco hit a 3-run home run. It made the score 4-1, in favor of the Bees.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Salt Lake Bees (probably) 2111 Round 2 Champions'," Sandoval told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Smith's Ballpark in Salt Lake City.
