Mark one up for the Houston (GCL) Astros.

In the crucial final game, they put away the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays 5-3 at Ballpark of Belvedere to win the Round 1, 3-2 and advance to the Round 2.

Although his team came up short, Tampa Bay (GCL)'s Ian Gordon was named the series MVP, with many of the league media feeling the series would have been over much sooner if not for his contributions.

"Gordon did a lot to keep Tampa Bay (GCL) in it, no doubt about that," said Astros manager Edgardo Avalos.

The Houston (GCL) Astros don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the New York N (GCL) Mets - Philadelphia (GCL) Phillies series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
