Brian Corey put the Great Falls Voyagers on his shoulders as they downed the Texas (Rk+) Rangers in the Round 1.

Great Falls won the deciding game by a 6-3 count at Black Diamonds Ballpark and wrapped up the series 3-1.

Corey played a key role in the victory, as he was named series MVP for his offensive output, which included a .353 batting average with a .450 on-base percentage, 1 home runs, 5 RBI and 2 runs scored.

"I told myself it was time to step it up and help the team win and I'm glad I was able to do that," he said.

The Great Falls Voyagers will play against the Portland Tigers in the next round. Portland won their series against the Oakland (Rk+) Athletics 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
