The Helena Brewers moved to within one game of the Round 2, downing the visiting Seattle (Rk+) Mariners at Kindrick Legion Field by a score of 4-3. Brewers left-hander Josh McLaughlin had a strong outing in which he threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Brewers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

In the bottom of the third, Helena designated hitter Jake Long had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Long stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 2-0, Helena. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

McLaughlin called the win "a team effort."
