It's Over! Myrtle Beach Defeats Frederick
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the Round 2 in a hard-fought series with the Frederick Keys.

It was a seesaw affair, but with a 5-0 victory at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark, Myrtle Beach lay claim to the franchise's 13th championship.

"There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Manuel Jimenez. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today."

The champs finished the regular season 96-44 and claimed first place in the Southern Division.

A victory parade is set to be scheduled in Myrtle Beach in the days to come.
