The Missoula Osprey started the Round 1 in style, downing the visiting Great Falls Voyagers at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field by a score of 5-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Osprey right-hander Elias Garcia threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 run.

Had Johan Geiger not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Geiger hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Osprey.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Missoula manager Josh Crawford said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field in Missoula.
