Almost There: Indianapolis On Cusp of Round 2 Triumph After 4-1 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of right fielder Ryan Silva, the Indianapolis Indians stopped the visiting Syracuse Chiefs, 4-1, in Game 4 of the Round 2. Silva went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for the Indians, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
There was more than one reason the Indians beat the Chiefs, but Silva's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
Said losing manager Phil Burkel: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Victory Field in Indianapolis.
