Danny Dudley and the Colorado Rockies opened the Wild Card in brilliant fashion today, traveling to Pittsburgh and shutting out the host Pirates at PNC Park 3-0 to secure an important 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series. Dudley, the Rockies right-hander, threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball.

Colorado relied on the hitting of Orlando Serrano to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Rockies on top, 2-0. For the game, Serrano had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

Dudley attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Colorado Field in Denver.
