Twins Hammered by Coleman, Drop Game 3 to Blue Jays
|
The Toronto Blue Jays moved to within one game of the Championship Series today, downing the Minnesota Twins on the road at Target Field by a score of 9-4. Blue Jays first baseman Collin Coleman slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The win gives the Blue Jays a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.
Toronto relied on the bat of John Slaff to get the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 2-0. For the game, Slaff had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"We're one game closer to our goal," Toronto manager Dan Silva said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Target Field in Minneapolis.
