St. Louis (GCL) Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
The 22-year-old rookie on the mound turned out to be the least of the Baltimore (GCL) Orioles worries.

Giving a high-pressure playoff start to youngster John Hodge seemed like a risky move for the Orioles, but it was one of the few things that went right at Ed Smith Stadium. Hodge tossed 7 solid innings, but it was all for naught after Baltimore (GCL) dropped a 2-1 decision. With the win, St. Louis (GCL) took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 Round 2.

Josh Brown's at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth was critical. The St. Louis (GCL) left fielder reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.

"Every loss stings," said Baltimore (GCL) manager Moises Sanchez. "This one is no exception."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 2nd , 2111 at Roger Dean Stadium.
