Round 1 Goes the Distance, Memphis Prevails
It went the distance, but the Memphis Redbirds finally disposed of the Oklahoma City Dodgers 5-1 in the series clincher at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Winning the finale gave the Redbirds the series, 3-2. They will now advance to the Round 2.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to Memphis shortstop Kyle Diaz. He batted .333 in the series, collecting 3 RBIs and scoring 2 runs.

"Kyle deserves it," said Redbirds manager Justin Tullar. "He was the glue that held our club together."

The Memphis Redbirds will play against the Sacramento River Cats in the next round. Sacramento won their series against the Albuquerque Isotopes 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
