Billings Breaks Through for First Win in Round 2; Now Trails 2-1
Steve Trumble pitched well, but the Chicago (Rk+) Cubs lost anyway, falling, 4-3, in extra innings to the Billings Mustangs at Dehler Park. With the win, Billings closed their deficit in the best-of-7 Round 2 to 2-1. Trumble gave the Cubs 6 innings and allowed no runs.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Billings third baseman Vince Williams, facing Willie Ruiz, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Mustangs the 4-3 win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Williams said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dehler Park in Billings.
