Emeralds Rally Past Reds for 2-0 Series Lead
The Eugene Emeralds got a strong game from starter Tyler Hintze, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Emeralds took the 5-3 win over the Cincinnati (SS-A) Reds in Game 2 of the Round 1 in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Hintze. Hintze threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs in the win, which gave the Emeralds a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

Eugene got a knockout punch from Alex Torres. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"This place was jumping at the end," Hintze said.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 21st , 2106 at Stallions Ballpark in South Bradenton.
