Riding the 3-hit performance of shortstop Colin Simons, the Colorado (GCL) Rockies stopped the visiting St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals, 9-3, in Game 2 of the Round 2. Simons went 3-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Rockies, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when Simons hit a curveball from Ricky Fifield for a 2-run home run, putting Colorado (GCL) up, 2-0.

"I felt good up there," said Simons. "I saw the ball well."
