The Burlington Royals started the Round 1 in style, downing the visiting Greeneville Astros at Burlington Athletic Stadium by a score of 8-6 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Royals designated hitter Josh Peet went 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the third. That's when Peet hit a slider from Tzu-jao Thum for a bases-clearing double, putting Burlington up, 5-1.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jim Vickery said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Burlington Athletic Stadium in Burlington.
