Already down in the Round 2, the Lake Elsinore Storm put on their best show, beating the Modesto Nuts by a final score of 5-4. Manny Jimenez was special. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Lake Elsinore now trails Modesto 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.

Lake Elsinore got a knockout punch from Jason Patterson. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Patterson told reporters after the game.
