Tides Even With Braves After Home Win
|
The Norfolk Tides and the Gwinnett Braves will take the Round 2 to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Tides beat the Braves, 6-3, at Harbor Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Norfolk right-hander Ricardo Baeza had a big role in the win. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs.
You-liang Ban was vital to the Norfolk win. He was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second with one out, Ban hit a 2-run double. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Tides.
"Ricardo was pounding the zone," said Norfolk manager Alfredo Rojas.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Harbor Park in Norfolk.
