Nationals Hammered by Burgess, Drop Game 3 to Tigers
Riding the 3-hit performance of left fielder Zachary Burgess, the Portland Tigers got a road win against the Washington (Rk+) Nationals, 5-4, in Game 3 of the Round 2. Burgess was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Tigers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

Portland used a timely hit from Matt Phillips to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Burgess said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Swine Ballpark in Virginia Beach.
