Almost There: Portland On Cusp of R2 Triumph After 2-0 Win
Portland Tigers manager Allen Franklin knew it was a gamble to give the start to a rookie. It was a good gamble to take.

Pitching in front of a hostile crowd, 23-year-old right-hander Kenny Treacy silenced the host Washington (Rk+) Nationals at Swine Ballpark. The Tigers shut out the Nationals by a final score of 2-0, to give the Tigers a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 2.

Treacy allowed no runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings for the Tigers. He walked 1 and struck out 10.

"We put together a nice win," Treacy said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Swine Ballpark in Virginia Beach.
