When the games really matter, the Peoria Chiefs put on their best show, beating the Great Lakes Loons by a final score of 3-2. Louis Dupré threw 9.2 innings of 7-hit ball. Peoria now leads Great Lakes 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

The decisive blow was delivered by Seth Kroc in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Louis Dupré to win the game for Peoria. The home crowd went nuts.

"There's no quit in this team," said Chiefs manager Tommy Davenport.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dozer Park in Peoria.
