Round 1 Game 1 Victory for Larcombe and Baltimore (GCL)
The Baltimore (GCL) Orioles started the Round 1 in style, downing the visiting Atlanta (GCL) Braves at Ed Smith Stadium by a score of 4-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Orioles right-hander Burt Larcombe threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball.

An inflection point occurred with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Orioles catcher Fernando Ciriaco hit a slider from Emilio Esquibel for a 3-run home run. Just like that, Baltimore (GCL) was up, 3-2.

"We'll keep riding this wave," said Larcombe.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tuesday, September 22nd , 2111.
