Johnson City Win Brings Series to 1-1
If the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants were expecting the pressure of the playoffs to get to Masumitsu Ishikawa, they underestimated the old man.

The Johnson City Cardinals got a strong start from the 37-year-old left-hander. Ishikawa threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs as Johnson City won the contest, 4-3, at Ballpark of Anchorage to tie their best-of-5 series with the Giants. The clubs are now tied 1-1.

The Cardinals got a gift in the top of the fifth inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and the bases loaded, Chris Page reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Johnson City.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Johnson City manager Manny Chavez.

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Howard Johnson Field in Johnson City.
