The St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals got a strong performance from pitcher Angel Penunuri, who stymied the visiting Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates en route to a win, 6-0, in Game 2 of the Round 2. The Pirates could never get a bead on the left-handed Penunuri, who threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. The Cardinals now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

Penunuri delivered a quality start for St. Louis (GCL). The 6-foot-7 left-hander allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 7.2 innings of work.

"I thought I'd have a season or two to get accustomed to everything," Penunuri said. "I didn't think I'd be here already."

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Pirate City Complex.
