St. Louis (GCL) Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game
The fans in St. Louis (GCL) are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Colorado (GCL).

The St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals finished off the Colorado (GCL) Rockies 8-1 in the deciding game of the Round 1 played at Mosquitos Ballpark.

They took the series 3-2 and will now head to the Round 2.

For his standout play, St. Louis (GCL) right fielder Tony Rivas was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .368, drove in 5 runs and scored 2 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Rivas and that doomed us," said Rockies manager Alex Velasquez. "Hats off to St. Louis (GCL), though. That was a great series."

The St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals will play against the Baltimore (GCL) Orioles in the next round. Baltimore (GCL) won their series against the Atlanta (GCL) Braves 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
