Raucous Howard Johnson Field Crowd Propels Cardinals to 4-0 Victory; Series Tied at 2
|
Nate Bundren went the distance at Howard Johnson Field to drag the Johnson City Cardinals back to parity with the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants. The right-handed Bundren needed 109 pitches to get through the complete game effort, which the Cardinals won, 4-0. The clubs are now tied 2-2 in the best-of-7 series.
The Giants had their hands full with Bundren, who overpowered San Francisco (Rk+) hitters while racking up 12 strikeouts.
"Nate pitched like a champ," said Johnson City manager Francisco Zamarripa.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Howard Johnson Field in Johnson City.
