Los Angeles Takes Wild Card
With a narrow 2-1 series win, the Los Angeles Angels have eliminated the Texas Rangers and are Wild Card winners.

"We tried not to look ahead to the Division Series, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said second baseman Matt Martinez, who was named series MVP.

Los Angeles won the final game by a score of 7-3, wrapping it up at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Martinez's big series saw him hit .429 with a .429 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Division Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card finishes.
