When he got to Spokane, Jose Velazquez was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Round 2.

The 21-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the host Cincinnati (SS-A) Reds, 2-0, in a remarkable performance at Stallions Ballpark. With the win, the Indians took a 3-0 lead in the best-of-7 Round 2.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Brady Radtke? The 23-year old second baseman Radtke stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Spokane up, 1-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"We did just enough to win," Velazquez said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stallions Ballpark in South Bradenton.
