The New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Binghamton Mets provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Binghamton Mets knocked off the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 7-6, in Eastern League action at NYSEG Stadium. Binghamton pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Fernando Tarango had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Tarango, now 3-3. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8.

Wei-kang Lu had a big 2-run double for the Mets in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Binghamton leading 4-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a splitter from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Carlos Araujo and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mets ahead, 6-2.

"Fernando was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Binghamton manager Mike Keeney.

With the loss, New Hampshire falls to 14-14.
