Bowie Beaten, 5-4, by Binghamton
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Binghamton Mets and Bowie Baysox.
Bowie designated hitter Alex Baeza had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Baeza was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2, even as Binghamton beat the Baysox, 5-4. Rafael de la Rosa snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Jon Yulfo suffered the loss.
Binghamton took advantage of an error in the top of the ninth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Brian Reed hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Mets in front, 5-4.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Reed told the Binghamton Citizen.
With the win, Binghamton improves its record to 10-18.
