Chicago A (SS-A) Moves on to Round 3
|
The championship aspirations of the Chicago A (SS-A) White Sox are still alive and well, while the Eugene Emeralds are left to wait until next year.
Chicago A (SS-A) won the clinching game of the Round 2 3-2 over Eugene at PK Park, to win the series 4-2.
"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said center fielder Andy Bowers, who paced the Chicago A (SS-A) offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."
Bowers claimed the MVP by racking up 7 hits for a .292 average, with a .346 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Chicago A (SS-A) White Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Tri-City Dust Devils - Hillsboro Hops series. Tri-City leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
