New Hampshire got a strong outing from Franklin Castro as the Fisher Cats defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 2-1, at The Diamond. In 6 innings, Castro surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The Fisher Cats improved their record to 13-16 by beating Richmond.
New Hampshire used the timely hitting of Elias Colon to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fisher Cats on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
