Braves Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of catcher Pete McCaffrey, the Atlanta (SS-A) Braves got a road win against the Spokane Indians, 5-3, in Game 2 of the Round 3 today. McCaffrey went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI for the Braves, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
The game turned with one out in the top of the sixth when McCaffrey hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Braves into the lead, 4-3.
"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Atlanta (SS-A) manager P.J. Phillips told reporters.
The next game is scheduled for Monday in Little Rock. The scheduled starters for the game are Mel Alvarez for the Spokane Indians and Arturo Saucedo for the the Atlanta (SS-A) Braves.
