1B Thompson Lights Up Chiefs for 5 RBIs as Tides Extend Lead
The Norfolk Tides are one game away from a sweep of the Syracuse Chiefs today after a road win at NBT Bank Stadium, 8-2. Tides first baseman Brad Thompson was a key contributor. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Norfolk now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 2.

Thompson had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth to put Norfolk in front, 4-0. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run.

"We're happy," Thompson told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Syracuse. Slated to start are Joe McFarland for Norfolk and Jason Caglia for Syracuse.
