Syracuse Sweeps into the Round 2
The Syracuse Chiefs outclassed the Columbus Clippers in all facets of the game throughout the IL Round 1.

The end result was a Syracuse series sweep to advance to the Round 2, capped off by a 12-4 win in the final game.

"We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said catcher Tyler Dailey, who hit .417 in the series.

Dailey's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .462 on-base percentage and had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Syracuse Chiefs don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pawtucket Red Sox - Norfolk Tides series. Norfolk leads the series 2 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
