Roush, Spokane Open Round 2 with Win
The Spokane Indians started the Round 2 in style today, downing the visiting Cincinnati (SS-A) Reds at Avista Stadium by a score of 6-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Indians left-hander Mike Roush threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball.

Justin Essig had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and a runner on 3rd, the Spokane center fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Indians in front, 6-2.

"Mike is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Spokane manager Greg Bolan.

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Avista Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Jason Steed for the Cincinnati (SS-A) Reds and Mel Alvarez for the the Spokane Indians.
