When he got to West Virginia, Luis Robles was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Round 1.

The 23-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Delmarva Shorebirds 4-0 in a remarkable performance at Appalachian Power Park today. With the win, the Power took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 Round 1.

The Shorebirds had little chance against Robles, who overpowered Delmarva hitters and struck out 12.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Robles.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Ernesto Najera for Delmarva and Gilberto Castillo for West Virginia.
