When the games really matter, the West Virginia Power put on their best show, beating the Delmarva Shorebirds by a final score of 4-3 today. Andy Mejia went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. West Virginia now leads Delmarva 2-0 in the best-of-5 affair.
The most significant at-bat for West Virginia came with a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the 13th. Power right fielder Kenny Skinner hit a run-scoring single to win the game.
In postgame comments, Skinner said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
