Braves Edge Tourists 6-5 to Open R1

The Rome Braves started the Round 1 in style today, winning on the road against the Asheville Tourists at McCormick Field by a score of 6-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Braves right-hander Aaron Katz threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball.
In his 96-pitch effort, Katz allowed 2 runs on 4 hits over 8 innings. He walked 0 and struck out 6.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Katz.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at McCormick Field. Slated to start are Steve Steiner for the Rome Braves and Katsura Omori for the the Asheville Tourists.
