Santana, Braves Take Dramatic Game 3 for 2-1 Series Lead
The Rome Braves needed some late heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 2 today. The Braves needed 10 innings before taking the 8-7 win against the Asheville Tourists in a walk-off at State Mutual Stadium. Rome first baseman Pablo Santana went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win gives the Braves a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

The knockout blow came in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when center fielder Ricky Tijerina stepped to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd and hit a walk-off run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Tijerina, "but we got it done."

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at State Mutual Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Felipe Medrano for Asheville and Josh Paddock for Rome.
