Raucous Dr. Pepper Ballpark Crowd Propels RoughRiders to 11-7 Victory; Series Tied at 3
The Frisco RoughRiders knotted up the Round 2 at Dr. Pepper Ballpark today, thanks in large part to left fielder Joey Carter. Carter went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 as he overpowered the Springfield Cardinals, enabling Frisco to grab the 11-7 win and move into a 3-3 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Ron Goodman's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 6-6. The Frisco second baseman hit a 2-run double off Jonathan Pekar to put the RoughRiders up.

"Every team in baseball loses," Cardinals manager Brendon Stevenson said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Izzy Lugo for the Springfield Cardinals and Doug Roka for the the Frisco RoughRiders.
